The Meaning of Success

Gladys
January 14, 2005

Society began its obscure corruption of basic human liberties by planting seeds of untruth in the average person's mind. From infancy, and just by basic human interaction, we are constantly being told to complete our education so that we may find suitable and satisfactory employment, which in turn will generate higher income for ourselves. This can lead others to have a warped view of success and the true meaning of happiness, leaving them to equate wealth with prosperity.

A truly successful life and/or career must begin with inner peace and confidence. Once one chooses a given profession they must be certain in their ability to perform in that field and that their line of work is befitting to them. Our world is a melting pot for a specific reason. What one person won't do, another will do. How fitting these words serve as a reflection of the diversity across the globe. Many different careers exist according to whatever one's taste may be. Oftentimes jobs have been created on a person's whim or by a dream or idea that caught their fancy. In short, something exists for everyone.

Please note that the happiest people are not the most "well off ", financially speaking. However, what these people are rich in is true contentment and a sense of fulfillment that no amount of money can buy. You cannot put a price on human emotion, for the very nature of it is truly priceless.
